So I am back, and what better way to celebrate my return than with one of those list pieces that seems to be so popular on the internet at the minute. As with all of these list articles this is my own opinion and is subjective. Certainly I love many of the shows in this post because they mean a lot to me personally and have influenced me to a great extent. So without further ado here are my 5 current favorite anime.
So yeah I just completed bravely default after having had it since December and it finally gave me something I wanted to write about. For those of you who don’t know Bravely default is a JRPG for the 3DS in the style of some of the older final Fantasy games. For the most part the game is pretty standard JRPG fare go round killing monsters in random turn based battles, you get the idea. But it also does a number of things differently and changes some of the genres conventions in interesting ways.
With the start of a new year there’s always a whole host of new anime and game releases to look forward to and as someone who doesn’t spend their money particularly wisely there’s a lot to look forward to. 2014 promises to be a particularly good year for anime releases in the UK with Anime limited increasing their number of releases and even MVM bringing out their first limited edition. On the gaming side, things are equally exciting with a whole host of next generation games coming as well as a number of interesting localisations for handhelds. So without further ado here are some Anime and game releases I am particularly looking forward to in 2014.
More than anything this is really a first Impressions of Space Dandy, but it also highlights the fact that hype can really destroy the enjoyment of what otherwise would be a pretty good show. Anyway the first three episodes of Space Dandy, arguably the most anticipated show of the winter season, have aired, and I cant help but be a little disappointed with what we’ve seen so far.
Wake up girls is an Idol Anime, usually when I see that as a description for a show I run a mile. Yes I’ve tried what many consider to be the best of the genre, Idolmaster and love live, but neither of those shows ever really stuck with me. So its with much surprise that after an hour long movie and two regular episodes, that I can say Wake up girls is one of if not my favorite show of the new season.
Hello People of the internet, well all four or so of you who are actually reading this post, its Simon here with an introduction to my new Blog. So what can you expect from this exciting new blog? Well as the title of the blog suggests you can expect to see my thoughts on Anime and everything related to it. Ill be posting my first impressions on new shows, highlighting hidden gems people may have missed and generally posting my musings on the state of anime as a whole.
And for those of you are interested a little about myself. If you haven’t guessed already my name is Simon, I am 19 currently studying History at Glasgow university. I started watching Anime way back in 2009 when a friend introduced me to detective Conan, after watching 560 episodes of the show, I moved on to my first seasonal show in spring 2010 with Angel Beats. Since then I have continued to watch and enjoy a whole heap of interesting shows. With my current favorite being paranoia agent. Along the way I started my own YouTube Channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/sim1234103), which for one reason or another I haven’t been able to keep up with recently. Anyway That’s enough about me, I hope anyone out there reading this enjoys my blog and Ill see you in the next post
